We were real surprised to find that lump in there because it has just appeared here lately. I'm wondering if he had an undescended testicle and the BLM just ran him through with all the others.

I kept trying to find another logical explanation.... but .... I can't. We were both so shocked to see IT because IT has not been there this whole time we have had him!

I want to wait another month until it cools off a little to cut him, again. I don't want to give him any excuse to go off water while it is so stinkin hot. It is not like he is any trouble to handle although I'm a little paranoid now about him hanging around the mare's fence.

I guess this helps prove that even a stud, maybe half-stud, can act like a gelding if you work with him enough. Smokey has always been more challenging to deal with than Sammy, who is the king of mellow, but we never dreamed that he had horsey testosterone flowing through him.

We ran out of image uploading space on this message board and I don't know how to clear it or expand it so any images we want to share have to already be on the www so we can just use the URL or link instead of uploading them here.
If you don't have any way to get them on the internet, send them to me and I'll put them up.

Barb, I sent you an email with  a link to your avatar image.... just c&p it in the avartar text box. If you have any problems... let me know

We're going to the vet on Friday but the tech said that she wasn't too surprised. I guess they've dealt with BLM mustangs and their little surprise packages before.

We went to the vet.... and there was nothing there. The vet felt all around and said it was probably a swollen lymph node. I swore to the vet that it was just there night before last. The vet said that if it was a testicle then he could possibly retract it during times of stress so that if kept reappearing with regularity then Smokey might be a cryptorchid and it was underdeveloped.

So, no sooner than we got home and Smokey relaxed and started eating hay and dropped..... IT was back. I'm going to wait until the end of the month and have the vet out to sedate him and then snip IT if it really is what it seems to be.
