Reply with quote | #1 | Where the heck is everybody???
We no longer have the ability to upload pictures on our message board so any pictures you'd like to share are gonna have to be on the www already so you can just post the url using the image feature at the top of the text box.
Like this....

If you don't have any way to upload pictures to the http://www... you can send them to me and I can put them up for you. __________________ Try not to do anything stupid |

Reply with quote | #3 | I've been around, but fighting medical issues lately.
About a month and half ago one of the pins in my knee started shifting. Got to the point where I could hardly bear weight on my leg without that damn pin trying to poke trough my skin. My Dr. finally relented and took it out a few weeks ago. I still go one pin and wire in there yet. He wants to wait until November to take them out. That little set back really slowed up my recovery. I am about a month and half behind. My walking is improved, but I still have a hitch in my giddyup and ain't moving overly fast yet. My leg is still weak. My Dr. does not want me to do much PT on it until the other pin comes out. With only 1 pin in there he doesn't want me pushing things too hard. He doesn't want me messing things up and re breaking it or something. So I am in a holding pattern until then. All I can really do is work on my walking and will have to wait until November until I can really push getting the rest of the strength back in my leg.
And, wouldn't you know it. 2 days after my surgery to remove that pin I started running a fever and having abdominal pain. I went to the ER on a Monday night and did not get back home until that Friday afternoon! Seems I have something called Diverticulitis. I spent the week in the hospital not being allowed to eat or drink anything while being pumped full of IV antibiotics and saline type fluids. I will be on antibiotics at home for a while yet and now get to change my diet. High fiber now for me! I am the only one of my friends that now takes Metamucil!
But, hey...not all is bad. I have been wanting to shed some weight and had been having a hard time doing it. But, thanks to my broken knee/Diverticulitis diet I have shed 25 lbs in the last 3 and 1/2 months!
The Renaissance Festival here kicked off a couple of weekends ago. I missed opening weekend because I was just too drained from being in the hospital, but made it out last weekend. That went pretty well. With a walking stick I am able to get around (even in my full costume!) pretty well. I plan on being out there every weekend now until the end of the Festival (the 1st weekend in October).

Dear Mr. Moderator..... ;-)
I love that picture of the sunset and the horse, however the one showing the horse resting while buggy pulling and that one hind leg 'resting' too is so sad. I always bothers me to see them when they do that.
I would never be a good horsewoman...I'd have them living inside and eating at the table.....in other words, they would be calling the shots..ha ha ha %They would no doubt be 'hogging' the bed even !!
Another beautiful day here again !!!!

Reply with quote | #6 | The resting buggy horse may look a bit sad but the truth is, if you asked her, ' If you could do anything in the world right now, what would it be?", She'd say, ' I'd like to stand like this and do absolutely nothing.
That's what horses do in pasture at that time of day. That's how they sleep. She's not really tired at all, she's just hanging out... picture her without the harness or the buggy and see if she don't look just like these two who are doing exactly what they'd want to do if you left it up to them.....
That's what horses like to do best... Nothing at all

Ha ha ha...you had told me about the "lazy" business, Tim...maybe that is why I like them so well. I do very dang little myself and with this cotton picking breathing business I do alot of just leaning on things. It is really better as sitting crumples up my chest cavity and standing up tends to stretch it out...silly I know, but old lady's are supposed to be silly !!
Let's hear it for the horses and the old ladies and the LAZIES !!!!!! ha ha
Beautiful day here in Indy !!!!

Reply with quote | #9 | Yes, they do have mounted knights jousting out there. They do that a few times a day, but you have to get there real early to get a good seat for it. It's a pretty popular event. I've seen enough now that I don't usually watch it much anymore. It's kinda funny, everyone always asks me about the big draw shows and events out there and I haven't been to them for a few years now. I guess when you go out there every weekend like I do and you have seen all that stuff several times you just stop going since you've seen it before anyway.
I got my new sword last year. If you have ever seen Pirates of the Caribbean it's similar to Jack Sparrows sword. It's called a hanger. I also carry 2 other blades besides my sword. A wicked looking 20 inch fighting knife and 6 inch belt dagger. I really don't know why I carry that many blades (outside of it looks cool). Them and all the other stuff I carry weigh a ton it seems! Lugging it around all day on a bad wheel gets damn tiring!... |

Reply with quote | #10 | I wouldn't mind watching the horses play jousting games some time.
I couldn't remember if you had gotten your sword last year or if you were still lookin for one. __________________ Try not to do anything stupid |
